Netwerk Filmeducatie – The Five Pillars of Embedding
A playful 2D animation showing how film education can become a meaningful part of the school curriculum.
For this commissioned animation, I visualised the five pillars of film education in schools: Vision, Alignment, Programme, Expertise and Collaboration.
Five coins roll out of a school, each representing one of the pillars. Along the way, abstract ideas transform into concrete scenes: students making films, film being used across subjects, teachers developing new skills, and collaborations with cinemas and festivals.
The video translates an educational framework into a clear and dynamic visual story, showing step by step how film education can take shape within the school programme.
Film education teaches students to watch, create and reflect on film and moving image with greater awareness. In doing so, they develop creative skills as well as a critical understanding of the visual culture that surrounds them every day.

Netwerk Filmeducatie – De Vijf Pijlers van Verankering
Een speelse 2D-animatie die laat zien hoe filmeducatie een betekenisvolle plek kan krijgen in het schoolprogramma.
Voor deze opdracht visualiseerde ik de vijf pijlers van filmeducatie op school: Visie, Aansluiting, Programma, Deskundigheid en Samenwerking.
In de animatie rollen vijf munten uit een school, waarbij iedere munt een van de pijlers verbeeldt. Onderweg transformeren abstracte ideeën in concrete scènes: leerlingen die films maken, vakken waarin film wordt ingezet, docenten die nieuwe vaardigheden ontwikkelen en samenwerkingen met filmtheaters en festivals.
De video vertaalt een educatief model naar een heldere en dynamische visuele vertelling, waarin stap voor stap zichtbaar wordt hoe filmeducatie vorm kan krijgen binnen het schoolprogramma.
Filmeducatie leert leerlingen bewust kijken, maken en reflecteren op film en bewegend beeld. Daarmee ontwikkelen ze niet alleen creatieve vaardigheden, maar ook kritisch inzicht in de beeldcultuur waarin ze dagelijks leven.
